It’s hard to believe that she’s 11 months old and that in a few short weeks we’ll be celebrating her first birthday. Seems like it wasn’t too long ago that we were all anxiously waiting together in the hospital waiting room, waiting for Mya to make her arrival. Now she’s a mobile, talking little girl…and the light of our lives! Seems like in the last few months she’s grown and changed so much…and now we’re seeing her little personality come out. She’s a hoot and such a happy little girl.
On the 16th she took her first 3 steps, much to our surprise. I guess we thought she’d just cruise the furniture forever. We were at David’s grandparents’ house, so they got to witness the great event. She’s still mostly content to crawl around, but it won’t be long before I’m really chasing her through the house.
She’s got quite the vocabulary now. She says “doke”, “Eyya (for our dog, Emma), “hey” and “hew”, “hey Eyya” (first thing EVERY morning), “dah” and “dah-dee”, “mah” or “mam” (my personal favorite), “shah” (for her toy sheep), and “dah?” (‘that?’ accompanied by a little finger pointing at whatever is holding her interest). I’m sure there are many others…we’re just yet to catch on.
She’s eating cheerios and finger foods, loves mac-n-cheese. She plays peek-a-boo and loves to hide behind things and pop out and scream “whahah”. She’s such a joy to us and keeps us in stitches!
We’re loving this little one so much and I’m already getting the bug to do this again. Trying to be patient…I hope we can make it until Mya’s two, but I’m not making any promises.
We thank all of you so often and we’re SO thankful for what you’ve done for us. We keep you and the lives you touch in our prayers.
