Have You Confirmed Your Pregnancy?
The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) estimates as many as 26% of all pregnancies end in miscarriage. Confirming if your pregnancy is viable (developing) with a pregnancy test and ultrasound is essential.
At CFS, we network with local pregnancy resource centers offering free pregnancy services to help you confirm your pregnancy.
Early Pregnancy Symptoms
The American Pregnancy Association lists the following as early pregnancy symptoms:
- Missed period
- Tender, swollen breasts
- Nausea with or without vomiting
- Increased urination
- Fatigue
Keep in mind not every woman experiences all of these symptoms. Some might not experience any. But it is still possible to have these symptoms and get a positive pregnancy test result days or weeks after a miscarriage.
Plus, many of these symptoms can be caused by other health issues. Increased exercise, rapid weight gain or loss, certain medications, and stress can all cause a change in your menstrual cycle. Nausea could mean you have the flu, and the need to urinate more often could mean a urinary tract infection.
As you can see, confirming your pregnancy first is critical.
