I totally believe that God always has a plan for our lives. If you would have told me 10 years ago that my basketball teammate from high school would end up handing me our Waylon, I would have laughed.
There is a reason that God places things on our heart and there is always a reason he places certain people in our lives. It’s amazing to look back and see how everything had to come together and workout at the perfect time for us to receive such a blessing.
I always look at Waylon and just think of Gods plan and how he created Waylon knowing exactly what his future would be and knowing he would be placed in our family.
If God ever places the thought of adoption on your heart, know that he has a plan for you. He knows exactly when you will get that call. He knows the birth parents. He knows the little miracle that you will hold and cherish your entire life.
I feel so incredibly blessed to have had the opportunity to work with CFS. God placed Jasmine in my life and I do believe it was to lead us to Waylon.
I will forever be grateful for the work that CFS and Jasmine have done for us. Without them, we would have never had this chance.
Even though I do not know Waylon’s birth parents since they chose Florida Safe Haven, I am also forever grateful for their selfless decision to choose life and to choose adoption for Waylon.
What a brave, courageous decision to make.
I do continue to have a lot of questions in my mind as to how our future will look, in terms of how Waylon will handle knowing he is adopted. In a mother’s mind I just feel almost like a sadness, because I am scared that he may feel like he is just always missing something. I fear that it will make him sad at some point in his life and I just hope that we can help him through any emotional, hard times that he may have because of that. I look forward to telling him his story and sharing everything that I know with him.
I do hope that one day, if he wants to, we can help him connect to his biological family.
I guess only God knows what the future looks like. Until then, I am going to squeeze and love on my little Waylon and soak up all these moments with him. He has truly been one of the biggest blessings in our lives. My grandma passed in 2012, and I can’t help but to think she had a hand in helping to place Waylon with us. He fits into our family perfectly and everyone is so in love with him. God is great and his plan is always perfect.
